Yes the elections are finally over in the US. We have a new President Elect and whether this will be good or bad for the United States only time will tell.
But, this did not mean what most analysts and Wall Street thought it would mean to the economy. They foolishly believed that if a certain person was elected the economy would rebound immediately and this recession would be over and everyone would be back to prospering and the crisis would be
over. These are the people that are running the finances for our great country and controlling what happens to the value of our dollars.
The only thing that is going to stop this recession and get us back on our feet and back to being the most prosperous country in the world is for all the foolishness and government waste to stop. But as we see everyday it’s only getting worse. Let’s look at just a few examples of the foolish spending our
government is doing daily shall we?
The Federal Communication Commission just gave $10 million dollars to NASCAR to advertise the conversion of television reception to all digital in 2009. WHAT?? The taxes that we pay on cable, satellite, cell phones and internet are so excessive that they can spend $10 million dollars to advertise on a race car for something that we have no control over? There is no decision on our behalf whether we do it or not, it is going to happen. Do we really need NASCAR to tell us this? Wouldn’t people that watch TV know this by all the countless ads they are already running? No offense to NASCAR or its fans, but this is ridiculous!
And don’t be fooled, I’m positive there will be another new tax on television watching to fill the coffers back up again so they can stuff their pockets.
Social Security - Yes, the Millions and Billions our government is giving to the fortune 500 companies, the big banks and the already too well paid CEO’s to bring their companies out of ruin is coming from our social Security. And do they care? NO. this is because no one in government pays into social security,
they all have a private retirement that is better than social security and the payouts are six figures annually with no payments from them for co-pays, deductibles or premiums. Why is there’s different than ours? Because they simply DO NOT CARE about our income and quality of life. The only extent they care is to the extent it takes to keep their office and to keep their massive salaries.
Unless you are turning 65 in the next 2 years or will be receiving SSI in that timeframe, social security will be bankrupt. But we will still be paying the tax with no benefit.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating not paying taxes. All I’m saying is the money we work hard for day in and day out at a job is being eaten away by taxes and our own government doesn’t care that they are bankrupting us.
AIG - Our government bailed out this company and took control over 80% of the company and within a couple weeks the top executives took a $500,000 week long retreat using our money. Where is the control of our money? Our government didn’t even question this until weeks after it was over, they should have known this immediately and stopped it from happening. And now they are considering giving this same insurance giant another $100 BILLION dollars to stay afloat. And to make matters worse when the CEO who ran this company into the ground lost his job, he got a $20 MILLION dollar severance payout. Where is the justification in that?
Our government has not learned over the years that giving our money to the wealthy companies and CEO’s doesn’t work. My opinion is they need to give it back to us and let us decide what and how we spend it. Then this country really would be the richest in the world.
So how do we turn this around and keep more of our hard earned money so we can pay our debts and keep our houses, even if we do lose our jobs? Start a home based business or an online business. It’s a fact that
when you own or run your own business, you keep a substantially greater amount of your money or get a significantly bigger return on your taxes. It’s a proven fact that a millionaire that runs his own business pays fewer taxes than a person working at a job who earns a $40,000 a year salary. Seems a
little backwards doesn’t it? But that is how the tax laws are written.
So, what is keeping you from doing this? Is it not knowing what to do or how to start? Is it the fear that you don’t have enough capital to start and maintain a business? Is it the lack of knowledge about a business? Are you just confused after everything you’ve read and heard?
